Mirandus is a sweeping fantasy role-playing game set in a large world controlled by five player rulers. In-game, players have complete freedom of choice: they can leave the city and venture into the wild to battle monsters and explore ancient ruins on their own, join up with one of the monarchs to serve as a knight in their court, or establish a business in one of the five great cities. Player-ownership of in-game assets is a central mechanic, with players able to hold deeds to parcels of land and set up strongholds from small farms to massive citadels.
What is Mirandus?
The game play of Mirandus is based on three key principles: freedom of choice, player-ownership of assets, and community interaction. Players are free to choose their own play style and pursue their own goals, and they can do so in a world where almost everything is player-owned. This encourages a strong sense of community, as players are more likely to help others when they know that everyone has something to gain from the experience. The play-to-earn system ensures that players are well rewarded for their time, effort, and achievements.
Mirandus was created by Gala Games, a small studio based in the greater Boston area. Mirandus is one of two prototypes that Gala Games has developed; the other is an MMORTS game set in the same world. Mirandus was successfully Greenlit on Steam this year after a four-month campaign, and now Gala is preparing to release the game through Early Access early in 2022.
